Austin, one of the first female graduates from the American Hydropathic Institute, which she attended because mainstream medical schools did not admit women. Tipped onto the front wrapper verso of this issue is a four page illustrated leaflet printing a premium list issued by the journal, listing prizes given to agents for soliciting certain numbers of subscriptions to the magazine. Articles include "Why Young Women Should Not Use Tea Nor Coffee," "Psychological Invalids--No. 2," and "Water Cures at Home." OCLC locates seven institutions holding physical copies.
