Austin, Texas: The Anita Schutze Travel Service, 1940. Quarto, single leaf printed on both sides and folded accordion style, with one large page of text to recto and three panels of text to verso. Single issue of a newsletter "published twice yearly" by a woman-owned travel agency in Austin, Texas. Anita Schutze left her job as a secretary to found the service in 1934. During World War II, hers was one of three travel agencies in Texas to remain operational. The newsletter advertises the service's travel offerings, including trips to Guatemala, Mexico City, Havana, and elsewhere in Latin America and the Caribbean. Scarce; OCLC has an entry, but lists no locations. We locate a single issue (Summer, 1939) at the Austin Public Library. Toned, with separations along folds up to two inches. Item #13141
