New Haven, Connecticut: 1868. 13 x 10.25", brown morocco with gilt, "Yale" in gilt to front cover, Yale seal and initials "S.S.S." to rear cover, brass clasps, spine divided into six compartments with gilt decorations and titles, name "F.C. Beach" to lower spine. Contains title page plus 48 albumen photographs by Warren, including 31 of students (29 signed) and 17 unsigned photos of professors. This copy belonged to Frederick Converse Beach, a New York patent attorney, editor and co-owner of Scientific American, and editor-in-chief of the new Encyclopedia Americana in the early 1900s. A nice copy with wear to covers, foxing to pages. Item #12549
