Connecticut: 1782. Two items related to the Revolutionary War service of Samuel Pulford, a member of the Continental Army from Fairfield County, Connecticut. Includes a handwritten note, 7.5 x 4", dated 1782, directing a delivery of "the depreciation notes due unto Sam Pulford for his service as a soldier in the Continental Army in the Connecticut line...for the payment of wages due to him...until he died on his returm home after the defeat of Earl Cornwallis...." This document is signed by Robert Fairchild, justice of the peace for Fairfield. Also includes a partially printed Connecticut pay table receipt, 7.5 x 7.5", completed in manuscript, for pay due to Pulford (deceased) in 1782. In nice condition with toning to paper, mild chipping and tearing along margins. Item #11833
