Circa 1900. A collection of eleven photographs, each measuring approximately 4.25 x 6". Includes 4 cabinet cards and seven loose albumen or silver gelatin prints. A compelling group of images depicting members of the leper colony at Fianarantsoa, Madagascar, established in the 1890s by Reverend Arthur Huckett and his wife Eliza. Two of the images are captioned in a contemporary hand, one caption reads "Three types of lepers in Mrs. Huckett's leper settlement." In very good condition with slight fading to images, staining and/or glue/paper residue to versos of some images, curling to loose images, wear to mounts. Item #11648
